"Sustainable development  is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Brundtland Report, 1987). Historically, sustainability has been linked to the fight for social justice, conservationism, internationalism, and other past movements in the end of the 20th Century. These ideas culminated in the so called “Sustainable Development”.

ISEC Lisboa is committed to aligning its activities and responsibilities with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and joining locally in a common and global effort. To this end, it decided to define and implement a Sustainability Policy that embodies the Sustainability Action Plan and the Strategic Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change.

 

The line of research in Aeronautics, Space and Air Transport (AETA), in ISEC Lisboa arises because the professors and students in these fields of studies, trust that the research in the disciplines of aviation, air transport, aeronautics and space can be in reacheable distance to each and every one given the capacity of the teaching staff involved in ISEC Lisboa academic world.
